This is completely normal cycle and just as the menstrual
cycle starts at the age of 12 or more, menopause also occurs by
the age of 50. The menopause symptoms occur due to the decrease
in the levels of estrogen and other hormones. The number of
ovaries in every woman is limited and as the number starts
decreasing the estrogen and other hormones produced, also
diminishes. As far as menopause symptoms are concerned, some
women experience almost no symptoms but usually there are early
symptoms that are seen in most women.
The first symptoms that usually are found in women, is the
irregularity of the menstrual cycle, which is quite natural as
it decreases and then comes to an end. There are some symptoms
like memory loss or mood swings or a state of mental confusion
that are found in round 25% of women experiencing menopause.
Emotional outbursts are also common those days and most of the
women have hot flashes and the sudden changes in them confuse
the family members. There might be no reason at all but the
tears and the outburst can be caused by anything.
Some women find problems in sleeping, get irritated very
easily, experience fatigue, headaches, joint and muscle pain,
depression, heart palpitation etc. While discussing about the
menopause symptoms, there are found contradictory statements
regarding having sex. Some women are seen to enjoy sex more
than before, probably because they don't have any pregnancy
concerns any more. But most of them feel discomfort during sex,
as there is vaginal dryness and thinness of vaginal tissues.
Some feel decrease in the sex drive and are not easily aroused
and become less sensitive.
The menopause symptoms are also reflected on the hair of
many women as they experiences loss of hair or stubs of hair on
cheeks or chin. Menopause has impact on the heart too and many
women have symptoms of cardiac problems. Due to the mood
swings, the increase in irritation level or memory losses the
woman might have psychological problems. The first symptoms and
the early symptoms are not generally pretty evident at times.
And usually the family members feel the difference in the
nature and the mood of the woman.
