Experiencing Early Menopause Symptoms

Menopause is usually associated to women who are in their
fifties. Women associate it with aging.

This is a misconception because it can affect a woman at any
age. Although, it is quite seldom for a woman who is still
young to get menopause but it happens. However, there have been
a lot of documented cases wherein early menopause symptoms
occur to women who are less than forty and this includes young
ladies who are in their early teenage years.

The only issue that surrounds experiencing early menopause
is fertility. When one experiences it, whatever the age is, one
no longer has the ability to conceive and give birth to a
child. Thus, the child bearing years are at an end. Do not
panic because there are a lot of reasons why this is happening.
It could be because of genes or hormones. You could be having
low estrogen level or you recently had an operation that
triggered the symptoms. Thus, if you are experiencing any of
the early menopause symptoms, it is time to go and visit the
doctor:

1. Irregular periods

2. Infertility

3. Hot flashes throughout the day and night

4. Bladder control issues

5. Extreme weight gain or weight loss

6. Irritability

7. Mood swings

8. Absent-mindedness

Ways to Manage Insomnia and Menopause

One of the symptoms of menopause is insomnia. More than half
of the women who are about to go through menopause are sleep
deprived.

There are many causes for this: hot flashes in the middle of
the night, night sweat, worrying about menopause, and others.
If your lack of sleep makes you unable to live your life the
way you used to, it is time to check with your doctor to find
out how you can manage this or keep it’s occurrence at a
minimum. Insomnia and menopause should not hinder how you
should live your life.

There are actually a few simple steps that you can do on
your own to help you control insomnia. You can learn to
meditate to keep your mind in a relaxed state and if you
combine it with aromatherapy, you will be asleep in no time at
all. Wear cool, comfortable clothing at night and make sure
that the bed you lie in at night is also comfortable. Drinking
warm milk or tea always helps and never eat a heavy meal before
you sleep at night. Make sure you take your meals not too close
to bedtime. If you wake up in the middle of the night and you
can no longer go back to sleep, think of calming thoughts and
images and do some deep breathing. This will help you get back
to sleep. There are some who take sleeping pills but it is not
always recommended to do so especially since your body might
get used to them and you do not want that to happen. If you are
not afraid of needles, you can also consider going to an
acupuncturist. Some who do have reported that it helped them
get rid of their sleeping problems at night.

So you see insomnia and menopause do not always go hand in
hand. As you can minimize and possibly even get rid of insomnia
but you can never stop menopause from occurring. However, do
take note that, it will help you deal better with menopause if
you get your sleep at night.

Depression And Menopause Go Hand In Hand

Menopause is a stage in a woman’s life, when it seems as if
she has to pause her daily activities and take stock of what’s
happening to her body. It’s literally as if a woman’s
resistance and patience is tested in a lot of ways. Several
types of changes occur in the woman’s body due to the decrease
in the production of essential hormones.

During menopause, women feel depressed or are plagued with
sudden mood swings without any cause or reason. Depression and
menopause are seen to go hand in hand. The symptoms of
menopause have an unfavorable affect on woman’s body and result
in anxiety, depression, mood disorder, disturbance while
sleeping, hot flashes etc. All these symptoms are actually due
to depression, which in turn is related to menopause.

While these changes are going on inside a woman’s body, she
still has to deal with family and friends and if she is working
she has to cope up with the workload too. All these things also
count for the affect on her mood. The hormones that balance the
biological functions in a woman’s body are either stopped or
have started reducing. So sudden changes in moods and
temperaments are seen in them, which should be ignored by the
family members. Due to these drastic changes inside the body
even the normal and daily activities, seem like a burden for
most women. Depression is a very serious problem and that might
lead a person to feel like ignored in life and worthless and it
is quite possible that it may lead to suicide attempts
also.

Depression and menopause are directly related to each other,
and women should undergo medical treatment for this. They
should consult their doctor and take proper medicines and never
stop the medicine without consulting the doctor. The signs of
depression must be understood and the family members should
also cooperate during this period. A woman who has full family
support will feel quite less depressed and she might fight with
depression without any medicine too. Anxiety is mostly found in
women having less moral support from family members. This is
because they have no support system, whom they can lean on. If
the case of depression is left untreated it is a major health
risk and results to any thing like heart disease, osteoporosis
or even to suicide. If depression is more prominent then it
will have to be treated along with the treatment for other
symptoms of menopause. The moment menopause symptoms such as
depression, anxiety are felt or seen, it’s advisable a woman
consults with a doctor in order to deal with it. If left
untreated, you never know what repercussions it may have.

Bleeding During Menopause- Is It Normal?

Menopause is a part of natural way of growing age in women
and it should be taken in a natural way too. When symptoms of
menopause are discussed the first thing that is considered is
the menstrual cycle. Some women experience heavy bleeding
during menopause whereas some find that the menstrual period is
not at all seen for a long period of time.

So there are no particular criteria for menopause symptoms
as it varies from woman to woman. Sometimes it happens that
when some of these symptoms like heavy bleeding or irregular
menstrual cycles are seen in women who are attaining the age of
menopause they are misunderstood to be symptoms of menopause.
There might be some other problem that might lead to some
serious ones. So if there is excess of vaginal bleeding and
even if the woman is in her 40s or younger, she should consult
her doctor.

The bleeding during menopause is to an extent considered
normal but even if it is a part of menopausal symptom it has to
be checked. So awareness is needed among women so that she
takes care of her health and health related problems. The
menopausal symptoms that are psychological are not so serious
because they occur due to the hormonal imbalance but the
physical problems need to be checked. Like the excess of
bleeding during menopause can be consulted with the doctor and
the doctor may prescribe a pelvic exam for that. This becomes
sometimes important, as the doctor might not be able to decide
if there is any vaginal infection or not. Pelvic exam does not
hurt the patient but it is quite possible that she might feel
uncomfortable.

After the pelvic exam the doctor gets confirmed if there is
any other health related problem in the woman or not. If the
doctor finds something suspected then you might be advised to
undergo some other medical tests to get it confirmed. Due to
the symptoms of menopause there happen to be some confusion so

absence of periods during this stage are normal symptoms and
are found in most of the women. But to be on safer side and
with the inclusion of medical wisdom it becomes important that
you see a doctor. Vaginal bleeding might be a normal symptom
too or it might be due to some infection or other problem.

Peri Menopause Symptoms- Starts At Any Age

Menopause is not called menopause until one year has passed
since your last menstrual period. There are many women who
start experiencing the pre or peri menopause symptoms several
years before their actual menopause occurs. This is not certain
and cannot be said perfectly that when will these signs start
occurring in certain women or so.

The age varies from woman to woman and there are woman who
even start experiencing premenopausal symptoms in their early
thirties, some in their forties and some might never experience
any symptom at all. So there is no fixed rule or no such study
that can tell you what and when will be the symptoms in any
woman. There is nothing to worry about anything if you
experience one or more symptoms but it is equally important
that you discuss them with the doctor. Women who have had their
ovaries removed due to some reason, will experience sudden
menopause and there will be no such symptoms seen in them.
However the premenopausal symptoms are hot flashes, coldness,
night sweats, irregular periods, sleeping disturbances, mood
swings, dry skin, hair loss, heart palpitation, vaginal dryness
and other discomforts. These are the common symptoms that are
usually seen in the patients of menopause but there can be
several other specific symptoms too. Some women experience
heavy periods while some have light or spotting during periods.
The bleeding duration during periods can be longer or shorter
and the period cycle can also be irregular. Depression,
frustration, anxiety and other psychological problems are seen
in several women. Menopause is a natural thing and it will come
to every woman sooner or later and so you should be mentally
prepared for that.

There is no such age that can be said to experience peri
menopause symptoms and if these signs occur in thirties they
don’t understand these, as it is too early to think about
menopause. But premenopausal symptoms can be seen in any age
and so you should be a little more conscious so that it can be
taken care of properly. Sometimes these symptoms are similar to
thyroid disorders and it is better to consult a doctor and take
the appropriate advice. Some women are fortunate and they don’t
experience any menopausal symptoms or perimenopausal symptoms.
If these symptoms are due to menopause then they will not
subside until the final menopause occurs but the doctor can
advice you or prescribe you some medicines that will ease your
problem.
